Serving the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula of Virginia for over 40 years, Dilday Builders Inc. takes great pride in our long-standing reputation for quality craftsmanship and renowned customer service. Most recently, we owned and operated Chesapeake Homes in Kilmarnock where we specialized in the construction of customized modular homes. This entity was sold in anticipation that Lloyd, the owner of DBI would retire – after about a week of this new lifestyle with nothing to occupy his time, he started another entity specifically devoted to smaller jobs, repairs, renovations, and up to selective whole-house renovations.

The intent with the new business is to carry on the tradition of never compromising quality in any project. We use only quality materials and work with trained employees and subcontractors. We also offer in-house CAD drafting as needed on our projects to ensure our interpretation meet your expectation and desire. We have warehouse space as needed to purchase in advance and store materials for projects to avoid delays. We also have a fully equipped wood-working shop to facilitate custom fabrication as needed. Our mobile equipment includes fully equipped trucks and trailers with modern tools and equipment to complete almost any task. Excavator, loaders, and grading equipment are also owned by us to provide residential excavation as needed.

Two (2) of our field employees have been with DBI for over twenty (20) years and know how to satisfy our quality demands. We have been fortunate to attract (2) more experienced carpenters and (2) apprentices and stand ready to take on most any project. Lloyd is the estimator and general manager. While Jennifer has acquired an existing property management business and is working to expand that, she is still available to assist us as needed.

Currently we are completing a major residential renovation, changing a former residence to a library for the local historical society, as well as additions renovations and service work.
